About Bennett

Bennett Wine is an artist living and working in upstate New York. He combines photography and sculpture and has used digital photography as one element in most of his work for both 3 dimensional objects and works on paper. While most of his more recent sculpture is multi-media, freely combining metal, wood, video, fiberglass, with organic material, photography has a constant presence in the work. Wine has shown outdoor public art work throughout the eastern United States, in addition to his interior work in galleries and museums. While there is a flow of concepts between the public sculpture and the interior work, there is a rough division of themes. The public work tends to be more accessible and generally shows people in tragic/comic existential situations. The interior work has to do with subjects such as perception, and actual reality versus the depiction of reality, to name some predominant themes.
